Why is architecture considered an art

This should be applicable especially in spaces that are often cold and impersonal for example hospitals schools offices public service buildings etc. However, art is the only resource to humanise the merely practical dimension and to make it more public-oriented. From my humble point of view, architecture as an art form is extremely misleading to the public domain and it can also cause potential damage to society.

We as an architect are in charge of the form of the building but form is our specific contribution to the evolution of world society but it is not art. It is not important if what you think is practically the right way to build however what design is beneficial for the majority is an efficient design produced by an architect. It might not be agreed upon by all the readers that art and architecture are not related, but this is a personal opinion based on readings and the knowledge spectrum owned by me.

Both art and architecture have an intangible aspect of creativity. This aspect can be overviewed in terms of eye-candy design forms or creative spatial planning and buildings with enhanced functionality. Whichever the case may be, both aim towards the benefit of the society and are well suited to that particular time of the civilisation. Figurative Painting - the Grea Architecture meets the needs and goals of those who inhabit it. I am going to tell you right out of the gate that I do not believe that architecture is art — at least not in the traditional sense. However, I have an open mind, and Andrew and I are going to break this argument down and see where we land once the dust settles.

We are going to review both sides of the argument and hopefully, by the end of the show, we will reach a conclusion. Can architects be artists? I asked a small group of my friends to send me their favorite piece of art as an experiment of what people intrinsically consider art. Once the dust settled, and out of 14 submissions I received, only 3 were buildings — one was St. Almost everyone who added some text to their submission spoke to how their selection made them feel — which at worst is an ethereal quality that can only be described between people and never physically shared.

Art can truly be judged by you, the individual, as far as you yourself are concerned, by only one measure. It is not a static but an energy measure. Do not ask what the art is or ought to be, for this is debatable and will inevitably lead to endless argument.
